Overview
Mastercard's global Regulatory organisation is looking for a Senior Counsel to join its Europe team, reporting to the Assistant General Counsel, Regulatory for Europe. The role will have lead responsibility for managing Mastercard's oversight as a Systemically Important Payment System (SIPS) in Europe and a Recognised Payment System in the UK. It will be responsible for advising on the oversight requirements and related impacts across multiple areas of the business. The role is a legal, rather than a compliance role, but will work very closely with Mastercard's regulatory compliance team on all aspects of oversight. In addition, the role will be involved in a number of other important regulatory issues across in Europe, including critical infrastructure designation, treasury/settlement issues, tax and technology modernisation, .
Collectively, this will involve a high degree of collaborative working with many others across the Mastercard organisation including business counterparts outside the Europe region in roles potentially including Technology, Finance, Risk, Product, Operations, Settlement and many more. The successful candidate will be part of a global group that manages Mastercard's regulatory footprint under the leadership of Mastercard's General Counsel, Regulatory.
Role
- Provides advice and guidance on the SIPS Regulation, the PISA oversight framework and various Bank of England Codes and supervisory statements to Regulatory colleagues and internal business teams most impacted by oversight, building close trusted relationships and establishing a reputation as the subject matter expert
- Providing legal/regulatory advice to business stakeholders on the impact of oversight requirements on product development and technology and contributing subject matter expertise with respect to operational requirements, policies and procedures
- In partnership with Compliance, engaging with the European Central Bank, National Bank of Belgium and Bank of England on oversight issues, as well as advocating and defending Mastercard's position or approach
- Assessing the impact of external regulatory initiatives on Mastercard, working across the business to develop positioning and drafting relevant consultation responses
- Acting as a liaison to business and/or functional departments in connection with regulatory engagements including regulatory examinations, meetings and other interactions.
- Managing external counsel as necessary, and reviewing and analysing regulatory advice for advancing strategic initiatives
All About You
- A lawyer qualified to practice within the Europe region, with mid-level experience, ideally to have included time working in-house within a retail bank, regulated payments business or central bank/relevant regulator
- A strong understanding of systemic importance / prudential regulation, combined with the role of Financial Market Infrastructures within the payments ecosystem
- Solid understanding of relevant Europe payments regulation and the broader regulatory and policy landscape
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, combined with an ability to communicate complex regulatory issues in simple and concise terms
- Must demonstrate a proactive, time sensitive, results driven approach in carrying out all duties, obligations and responsibilities
- Experience of operating within a multi-faceted organisation working closely with a variety of teams - legal, public policy, communications, commercial, finance etc

The ideal candidate is a compliance champion and proven leader with deep experience in building and supporting compliance management programs and a background in payments and financial technology.
Role
The Director, Regulatory Compliance will lead a team charged with executing the regulatory compliance strategy for our account-to-account cross-border activity to ensure compliance with money transmission and other payment services regulations.
The role will be responsible for developing and implementing enhancements to the global regulatory compliance program, and will require strong leadership, collaboration and execution to ensure regulatory compliance across the business.
Key activities include:
- Lead the development and execution of global regulatory strategy for cross-border account-to-account business
- Lead regulatory engagement with European authorities, including the FCA and Belgian regulators
- Serve as a senior point of contact for European regulatory inquiries and supervisory interactions
- Manage global team of regulatory compliance professionals to meet local regulatory compliance requirements
- Be the point of contact for internal and external regulatory queries related to European activities

Overview
Pricing and Interchange teams develop, coordinate and implement a coherent Pricing and Interchange strategy in close cooperation with the business owners. Therefore, pricing and interchange teams are in the heart of any commercial initiative by mastercard.
Pricing initiatives can touch any aspect of our business and vary from simply rate change to sophisticated project like pan-European e-commerce strategy. As pricing is impacting every of our customers and our revenues it is crucially important that all approved initiatives are properly recorded, implemented, and communicated.
In this role you will coordinate or perform yourself all post-approval activities for all of European pricing initiatives and portion of global initiatives: communications, implementation, finance reconciliation, stakeholders updates, maintaining pricing tracker, maintaining records and executive meeting minutes. **Title and Summary**
Manager, Deal Management
This position will report into the Director - Business Development Finance Europe.
Role:
- Responsible for the establishment and management of strategic and complex customer business agreements in assigned countries
- Ensure through organizational planning the consistent execution of agreements by identifying and working with all required stakeholders
- Establish mutually quantifiable goals that drive profitability for Mastercard and customers.
- Fully understand internal guidelines, pricing, regulatory environment, business environment and apply already established measures to drive profitability for Mastercard and customers.
- Manage the customer business development process in the development and pursuit of high-priority deals.
- Support the European Sales Team within the assigned Countries, building profitable and protected deals structure for Mastercard and playing an active advisory role in business, strategic and financial related projects. This includes business case modeling for complex deals, non-traditional Customers, and Pan-European opportunities;
- Prioritize business opportunities within the assigned Countries in a fully independent way;
- Ensure the integrity, compliance and tracking of business cases and financial models;
- Translate business needs, strategies and regulatory requirements into business cases models;
- Co-operate with the legal department to incorporate the business case performance commitments within contracts.
- Co-operate with other departments (accounting, tax, local finance) to optimize deals structure;
- Perform regular analysis to assist senior management in the evaluation of opportunities
- Facilitate Senior Management review;
- Defend deals to approvers, up to US finance management, via the preparation of executive summaries and additional financial analysis;
- Perform detailed contract reviews to ensure full alignment with approved BC models;
- Organize and provide training and advice to account teams on the business case process, financial model and its best practices and on recent regulatory guidelines;
- Review and challenge Business case models built by other analysts;

Role
In this position, you will:
- Have a first exposure to all activities in the domain of P&C.
- Assist with initiatives and projects in areas of workforce planning, rewards, employee engagement and training.
- Respond to basic inquiries from managers and employees regarding P&C policies.
- Work with Centers of Excellence (Total Rewards, Talent Acquisition, Employee Relations, Talent Management, Learning & Development and HR Business Analytics) and GBSC (Global Business Services Center) to ensure programs, processes and initiatives are successfully implemented and managed.
- Assist in vendor management.
- Extract data from Workday (our HR system) for reporting purposes and/or internal use.

Senior Specialist, Strategy Pricing
We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Strategy and Pricing Senior Senior Analyst to support the development, evaluation, and execution of pricing strategies for Mastercard Europe EEA Switching Services. This role will play a critical part in delivering data-driven insights, supporting pricing governance, and assist in implementation of pricing projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Switch team with Switch pricing related ad-hoc queries and analysis
- Support the end-to-end pricing process including rate analysis and internal alignment.
- Contribute to the strategical pricing projects, providing relevant data and analysis
- Assist in preparing budget and forecast pricing templates
- Review waiver submission for accuracy and generate waiver reports on a regular basis
- Monitor the implemented pricing initiates for completeness and accuracy
- Support the regulatory reporting and investigation requests for internal/external stakeholders
Qualifications:
- Masters's degree in Economics or Bachelor`s degree with relevant finance experience.
- Experience in pricing, strategy, or financial analysis, preferably in payments.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualization tools.
- Eagerness to learn and grow professionally
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Experience working in a matrixed, cross-functional environment is a plus.
